Corporate Event Florals at Portland Marriott
The Project
This October, we created floral decor for Cambia Health's retiree luncheon event at the Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront. Nearly 200 guests gathered in the Salon E Ballroom to celebrate years of service and community.
The brief was clear: create a warm, welcoming atmosphere within a focused budget while working with a space that had limited natural light. Our approach? Strategic placement and bold, seasonal blooms that delivered maximum impact where it mattered most.
The Design Approach
For a space without natural lighting, we focused on bold, vibrant colors and smart placement. Rather than covering every surface, we created impact where it mattered most.
Bud vases on each of the 14 dining tables - simple arrangements with 2-3 stems that added color without blocking conversation.
Statement arrangements in key zones - larger, dramatic florals at the entrance, registration table, and stage area. These became natural focal points that drew the eye and anchored the room.
A bright, warm color palette - orange dahlias, red roses, yellow and purple accents, and lush greenery. The client specifically requested vibrant colors to counteract the lack of natural light, and these seasonal blooms delivered exactly that energy.
The Flowers
We worked with seasonal blooms from Oregon and Washington farms, taking full advantage of October's peak dahlia season.
Featured flowers:
- Orange and peach dahlias (locally grown)
- Red and orange roses
- Purple stock and statice
- Yellow solidago and button mums
- Seasonal greenery and ferns
October is prime dahlia season in Oregon. We sourced these blooms from our local farm partners who grow sustainably in the Willamette Valley.
Every arrangement was designed in our European style - organic, textural, full of movement. Whether creating large custom arrangements for focal points or simple bud vases for tables, we believe flowers should feel alive and natural, not stiff or overly structured.
The Result
When guests arrived, the room felt warm and welcoming. The bright florals became instant conversation starters, and the strategic placement ensured every part of the space - from check-in to dining tables - felt thoughtful and celebratory.
